I have loved the work of Andy Goldsworthy for as long as I can remember and more recently been facinated by yarn bombing but worried about its impact on the environment once it begins to deteriorate.  My project “Leaf Offerings” brought these two influences together.  During the winter of 2019 I left little carefully constructed leaf kebabs on park and street benches in Madrid and on the side of pathways in the countryside.  The idea was to give something for nothing, to give delight to anyone who might find them and draw attention to what it is we leave behind.  My idea was lieterally bombard the public seating in Madrid with these biodegradable offerings but in fact the enormity of this idea soon became apparent and I left the project by the wayside as it were.
